We have an Arev 3.12 on NT SBS Server. We use the NT Service Pack. It's impossible to create, read or write in a REV file on the floppy disk.
The VOC record for volume is like this:
Volume name : DISK_A
Location : A:\
When I try to define a table on this volume, Arev stops to work on my station. It's seams to be waiting for something… but during a very long time.
What can I do to use somes tables on floppy disk?

A client had a similar problem when switching from LAN Manager to NT 3.51. A suspected it was the HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) in NT falsely detecting direct access to hardware…floppy access should be legal as ARev uses standard DOS/BIOS interrupts. I was never able to reproduce the problem and I do not know what the solution was as it seemed a system problem rather than ARev.
What file type is defined in VOC Volume descriptor? Should be RTP57 for linearhash.
Assuming the floppy is properly formatted and the drive is not bad (do a DIR A: from the command prompt or click on the drive a: icon in My Computer on the desktop)I would try:
1) turning off any virus protection to drive a:
2) Detach VOL_A and try attaching as "ATTACH A:\" - this assumes there is a REVMEDIA file on the floppy drive
Barring some obscure NT setting you should be able to access ARev files on floppies with no problem.
