We need to prevent any user from updating any field except Status if status field is empty. We do not want to run processes from the windows, since we already have several runing from them.

Any suggestions?

The answer is an MFS that is written minimally to use the smallest footprint, thus taking the least time to execute. A properly written one will do the job very quickly and quietly, and a hook on the

background process of INDEXING will make sure that no one removes it so that they can change the records (it checks to make sure the MFS is still in place.) No good having a security MFS without some kind of check. Of course, the best system will also hook a system routine (in real languages, it's called subclassing) so that the checking routine can't be removed. I'd be glad to knock one out for you and write an installation/deinstallation program. Payment only after you are satisified.
