I'm sure someone has done this sort of testing before. I copied all data (OI exe's, dlls, and lh datafiles) from our NT server to another PC for testing. That is if things really go wrong, then I don't have to recreate my test data all over again.

When I try to run OI on the local PC, I get the following error messages:

Msg #1: All Network Dirves ver 1.5.0.0

Unable to access Linear Hash Files. Error FS1019

Msg#2: Open Engine

Filing system installion failed.

(REPOS_BFS – FS1100)

Open Engine cannot continue.

Then I get a message saying thay my "Application" does not exist in repository.

Am I getting the above because I'm using the NT Services. Do I need to install that on the local PC or remove it somehow?? The local PC also has a copy of OI that is installed in another folder.

Do I need to do an Appbackup or something? I'm sure there is a way to do this and that someone has encounter this problem before.

Thanks,

Ray

P.S. Posted on otherside as well.

It sounds to me like you have ServerOnly=1 set in your RevParam file.

Turn it off and should be OK.

Ray,

No doubt Simon is correct. When I do a local copy of our development stuff (usually onto my laptop for backup and home development purposes) I usually run the Find utility with Windows and look for all REVPARAM files in my OI folder. I then simply delete them.

Hi All

I use a couple of bat files to do turn revparam on, then turn it off

REM Off looks a bit like this, with CD's to cover all paths in my app

CD ..\..

CD OINSIGHT

RENAME REVPARAM REVPARAM.TXT

REM on merely RENAME REVPARAM.TXT REVPARAM

So with one double click to run the bat file, all my revparams are taken care of.

What I usually do when moving from the network to standalone is, first back up LH.DLL and BIG.DLL then run netdrv.exe on the standalone (in the OpenInsight dir) to change from "all networks" (or IPX/Netware) to "single user".

Last time I copied app to windows 2000 workstation (C Drive), I probably did overkill by installing OIPI again, and the OI client thingy, and I had to copy across a number of *.INI files, into the OP System (Windows) directory.

About this point I write some "install Instructions" so I don't have to figure it all out again. Then of course I can never find where I saved the instructions, or Microsoft release a new operating system for which I have no instructions…

Who hates having to rewrite everything every two years, which I never have to do with OI/ARev. Oh JOI.
