I have recently taken on a new PC and when I attempt to run Reporter on either a OI 3.7.4 or OI 7.2.1 standalone system I get two messages and Reporter does not load:-

i) WOWEXEC

An error has occurred in your application.
If you choose Ignore, you should save your work in a new file.
If you choose Close, your application will terminate.

ii) Click Ignore then I get,

  Can't run 16-bit Windows program
This program or one of its components is compressed.
Use the MS-DOS Expand comman to copy the file from the Windows
  Setup disks.

The systems were copied from a PC running Windows 2000 where Reporter worked fine, I have performed the Client install on the XP machine and this has made no difference. We also have a customer who has two XP Client machines where Reporter will not function, if they run Reporter directly on their Server then Reporter loads ok, they have also re-performed the Client install with no success.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks

Jon

Try running the program compatibility wizard?

I've tried running the various compatibility modes without any success, WOWEXEC is showing as a process within NTVDM after double-clicking the executable so the Reporter executable must be getting somewhere down the line in trying to load the Reporter application.

I accessed the Event Viewer to see if any additional information was provided under the System entry from the two popup error messages and on submitting the details to Microsoft via the Help and Support Center link below it returned details of an error relating to the user not having sufficient priveleges to access the driver or because the drive is missing or corrupt. I'm not sure how accurate this information is or what it is relating to, to try and track the problem down any further.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Thanks

Jon
