Any one have any details or things to watch out for when installing a

AREV 3.111 on a NT workstation using a Novell 4. Server?

Please provide all the gory details on the NLM to use, problems encountered, settings on the NT workstation, configurations to avoid, how to utilize or not utilize a dedicated indexer, etc etc.

Thank you very much.

Dana,

These are just a couple of things that I have found that will help. Make sure that you workstations are up to date on patches and make sure they are configured for ems. Also downloading and installing the Novell intranetware 4.11 for NT 4.0 from support.novell.com on their products page is also a good idea. You should also make the revparam file with the serveronly =1 is the directory and sub directories.

Our systems have generally about 25-36 consurrent users, all doing a tremendous amount of updating. We set up a dedicated indexer about 4 years ago and I wish we'd done it sooner. The only downside is that every now and again we get some sort of network glitch (we have over 60 servers in our LAN/WAN)and the l'il Indexer (which lives in a closet far from the users and the IS-staff) sits there quietly waiting for someone to "Press any key" - busily NOT processing transactions. Had I to do it over again, I'd locate it somewhere near our HelpDesk so that someone could keep an eye on it.
