Revelation: Will there be a new System Editor? (OpenInsight Specific)

Mike et al,
In a posting a while ago you said you were working on a replacement for the System Editor. Any news on that?
I have replied with a wish for a comment/uncomment feature. And a wish for the possibility of doing a word search.
Unless you've scrapped the project I have another suggestion for a very useful feature: Regular expressions in Search and Replace.
Actually I'd be thrilled if I just could search and replace tabs and CRLFs along with the visible characters!

Hi all
While we are about it, I wouldn't mind one of those code completer thingies like most of the current editors (delphi, jbuilder etc) have. With automatic indenting ie if you typed "if thingy then" and pressed return - it would automagically indent the next line.
And one of those format massagers, that would go over an old program and shape it for you.
And a compiler thingy that warned if you hadn't assigned a variable before using it (ie you spelt something wrong) or a warned you if you tried to get a value from a window control and spelt the name of the window control wrong (ie refered to a window control that wasn't defined on the window/form).
All this stuff would need a set up options list so you could turn it on or off or set preferences (like how big a tab indent is).

Scott,
Now don't rush up to the counter like that! I was first in line here! Get to the back of the queue!

Now serving number 3….
Hi, I'd like a multivalue editor as in CTRL-E in Arev. Oh yeah, and a packet of biscuits please.

Oystein,
You can search and replace on tabs now. Put a tab character into an open record in the system editor - select it and then copy it to the clipboard.
Now when you use the replace dialog you can paste the tab character in there.

Sprezzatura,
Neat!
I do similar things other places in and outside of OI, but it never occurred to me it would work in Sys Ed's Search dialog.
Now if I string all the lines of my programs into one, semicolon-delimited line, we've solved the CRLF problem too!
