We have an AREV application which contains a 'calculation' routine.

When running this routine, we get a read error on 1 of the tables the calculation uses. When verifying this table, the following message is displayed:

Verbose Line 1 B16 non-numeric data when numeric required. zero used. Line 1 'Verbose broke because a run time error was encountereed. Press Esc to leave the debugger.

What does this error mean and how do we fix it!?

Any help would be appreciated.

Is Verbose a symbolic field in one of your tables?

If it is, look at it in the dictionary window, and see which fields are used in the calculation. List those fields and see if you can find the error.

It may be that a field whose contents is expected to be numeric contains some non-numeric data.
