Too many users - Noone else in system (AREV Specific)

We have a client with a 5 user liscense running an AREV2.12 application. They load WIN3.1 from the network which is Novell Netware 4.0. They only have 4 users in total.
They just moved the application from and older Novell server to the Netware 4.0 machine over this past weekend and have had the following problem since then.
One user in particular is getting the "Too Many Users" error. She can switch machines and she still gets the error. Another user can
log to the Network through her machine and they get into AREV fine.
They tell me that they are not sharing any drives and there are no CD-ROM towers on their network.
I've seen a statement in the past that moving the EXE could have this affect. Does anyone know why this could cause a problem and could anyone explain how AREV is keeping track of how many users are logged in.
Thanks in advance, Kevin.

Some things to check:
Make sure that you have bindery emulation enabled under Novell 4.x.
Also, ensure that you have the line in net.cfg
SET PREFERRED SERVER={arev_server_name}
where {arev_server_name) whatever you call your file server with AREV on it.
If you are using the DOS netware VLMs ensure that the path with VLM.EXE in it on the workstation contains NETX.VLM, as well as all the others.
If you are logging in through windows, install the Novell client for Windows 3.x (get a Novell client kit direct from Novell)
I have seen CD-ROM servers/jukeboxes mess up user license limits.

We have similar ongoing problems at several client sites. Just today I have been able to isolate part of the cause. In our case, we have multiple servers at the sites in question. Specific to one site, we found the following:
-One user was also attaching to a second Novell server, which is acting as their web server.
-All other users only attach to the main server.
-User attaching to second server is the only one getting the "too many users" error message.
- The main server is NetWare 4.10.
- The second server is NetWare 4.11.
- When user logs off the second server, he can get into Arev without error. And he can continually replicate the situation.
I will be conferring with my Network Admin when he returns and may have additional information for you. In the meantime, if you find anything else out, please let me know.
