Network Products user survey (AREV Specific)

Since starting my job which supports an AREV application, I've been looking very closely at the network products that Revelation offers.
At this point, I'm ready to recommend (insist) to all our clients that they install the recommended (Revelation NT Service or Revelation NLM) product for their network. Primarily, we see NT networks with a couple of Novells here and there. I've spoken with Revelation to quite an extent about this (and they have been very helpful), however, any feedback on the matter would be gratefully considered.
We have not recommended it yet (in the past) because prior documentation had indicated it was a "number of users" and "performance" improvement as well as a "32-bit client stability" issue. So we had recommended they (our clients who usually numbered less than 5 at any given client site) stay with a 16-bit client and use the NPP. That tune seems to have changed to a "providing general stability on NT or Novell networks" thing as well as the other advantages, and we of course would like to see our clients as stable as possible.
Thanks for your input.

We run at max 8 users in the office and we use the NT Service. the protection it gives from GFEs is wonderful (unless you manage to abend the server as someone did in the office yesterday…. (sorry guys ). Still even then no GFEs.
We use it for no GFEs, the rest is bonus.

We won't sell our product without one or the other. Also generally find that Novell (3 & 4) is significantly faster and far more problem free.

and to think…I had nothing to do with this one…just remember that next week, OK boss?

Honestly, Revelation talks about those things to try and make it a soft sell. They don't really want to seem like they're forcing people to buy. Personally, even with 2 users, they almost assuredness of no GFE's is worth $700 per user, assuming a full price package. I always tried selling it as a one time insurance premium. With all the money invested into your software, it's worth it.
Of course, this doesn't include the stabiblity, the performance, the 32bit client and OS requirements, the added tools and so forth.
As Curt said, many people won't sell application without it now.

Like the other responses, I will add my comment that I will not install a system without NT service or NLM. Not having to have to deal with GFEs is a real boon.

Miles 33 won't sell a system without NLM or NT Service. As Andrew Macauley commented, we use them for protection from GFE's anything else is a bonus. It means that the helpdesk wastes less time talking to clients with GFE's, who can't really afford to lose four or five hours work by reverting to backup.
With the NLM on Win95 though, you MUST use Netware Client 32, or the PC's will hang regularly.

ABEND the server - isn't that the way servers are meant to work? Don't use the network products - have only had 3 GFE's in last seven years (and one of those was J. Bird's ) Mostly Novell 3.x with Win 95 Intranetware or DOS VLM clients. FWIW
