Help!

At one of our customers' site they suddenly

get the "OpenEngine - The maximum number of

LH database users has been exceeded" message

when rows are accessed. They may even get

the message when only one user is logged in.

It's a 4 user runtime on Win95 and Novell.

Nick Stevenson had a posting about a similar

problem 01/23/97. I've read the replies and

asked my customer if they recognize any of the

possible causes mentioned (IPX protocol is not

configured properly; attached to something

that is returning back as a Novell server but

does not accept locks; Netware requestor (client)

not installed or configured correctly; IP

addresses being given, then being taken away).

They don't.

Any clues?

Haven't found out what caused the problem,

but it seemed to go away when they turned off

and on their workstations. (They didn't reboot

their server, though.)

We should of course have tried this first.

(I thought they had.)

Oystein,

The most important pieces of information for us to help you are:

1) What version of OpenInsight?

2) What LH driver? What version?

3) Any server-based network products (LH/NLM or LH/NTS)?

4) What workstation OS's and what protocols (for example, MS IPX or Novell Client32)?

Andrew,

Keep quiet. This is between Larry and me.

(Actually I have no idea why he chose to tag along one of my messages.)
