The recent mailing of ?Revelation NLM Tech Notes?

advised using the Novell Client 32 dates 8/22/97

or 7/16/97.

1) How do I tell what version is in use?

2) What is the exact URL and file name to

download the current recommended versions?

Thanks,

Andrew Hubble

Andrew,

The besrt place to find these are at the Novell

support www site:

http://support.novell.com

I'd have to check at work to see where the version is displayed,

but for NT it will tell you the version on the

Novell splash screen that replaces the winnt login.

At least how Novell identifies the file needed?

Searching for "client32" results in things like:

"Client 32 DW Portuguese Language Modules 2.11,"

which does not sound like what the "Tech Notes"

were referring to.

It is 2 of our 6 Win95 PCs are that getting very slow.

(See my response to Bill Moyes' 10/31/97 post.)

Can you tell me how to tell what Client 32

version is in use?

Thanks,

Andrew

John,

1) Could you be a little more specific about how to tell what version of ?client 32? is being used in Win95?

From CONTROL PANEL -] NETWORK -] right click ?Properties? is shaded.

From NETWORK -] OPEN -] ?Client for NetWare Networks? -] PROPERTIES

there are only 2 tabs, ?Advanced? and ?General,? neither mentions ?client 32?

Please note: There is no mention of ?Intranetware? anywhere that I see.

The latest version is V2.2. The client32.nlm

in your C:\Novell\client32 directory should

be dated 6/30/97

ie. C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\CLIENT32.NLM - 6/30/97

The download from Novell consistes of 6 files

ENW95221.EXE

ENW95222.EXE

ENW95223.EXE

ENW95224.EXE

ENW95225.EXE

ENW95226.EXE

from this url:

You may have to start at:

http://www.novell.com/novellsw/platform.html

however.

I hope this helps

Maybe if you actually LOADED the client32 it would help. You are using the Microsoft Client for Netware.

Andrew,

1) Right click on Network Neighborhod on your desktop

2) Select properties

You should now see Client for Microsoft Networks, and Novell Client32/Intranetware Client32. If you do not see one of these you are not using the Client32, but the Microsoft CLient for Novell Netware.

I don't know the exact URL at Novell's page (I looked yesterday but their site was bogged down) but the curent Version is 2.2 and it teh file would be Novell Intranetware Client32.
