I am trying to use the CHOOSEDIR service with the UTILITY subroutine but I keep getting an illegal program operation error.

The statements I am using to call CHOOSEDIR are:

InstallPath="

Params=Title" : @FM : "C:\"

InstallPath= UTILITY("CHOOSEDIR",@WINDOW, Params)

The browse window appears and I can make a selection but as soon as I click OK and the window closes I get the following error:

Stack dump:

I am using windows 98 and OpenInsight 4.1.3. However, if I run my program on Windows XP the CHOOSEDIR service works just fine.

How can I use CHOOSEDIR on Windows 98 and or how can I allow my user to select a directory?

Jared,

I believe the 4.1.3a upgrade solves this problem.

Jared-

Are you a developer working in OpenInsight?

Do you have a Works subscription? As you may know, all developers using OpenInsight require a valid Works subscription.

Please contact us.

Thank You-

Revelation Software,

I thought that I didn?t need a Works subscription because I already had a unique OpenInsight license.

Several years ago I had a valid works subscription but I stopped doing development work in OpenInsight to focus on network administration and sales. I didn?t renew my Works subscription when I started doing network administration. It has only been recently that I have been moving back into OpenInsight Development.

I?m excited to see all the changes that have been occurring over the past couple of years. The new 32bit OpenInsight is absolutely wonderful and I think it is headed on the right track.

When I first became a Works member I applied the Collaborative Development Pack (CDP) disk that came with my Works license to the OpenInsight system of another developer (who is currently an active Works member and the head developer) to allow us to work simultaneously.

Now that I have resumed development work I am using the OpenInsight system where my CDP was applied. However, the head developer who uses that system is an active Works member. He has been upgrading the OpenInsight system as updates are released. Consequently the OpenInsight system where my CDP was applied is now at version 4.1.3.

According to the question ?What do I need to purchase in order to develop applications with OpenInsight for Workgroups?? in the ?Licensing Guide to OpenInsight for Workgroups? knowledge base article each developer must have a unique license.

I have a unique license and so does the other developer who is an active Works member. Subsequently I thought that I was still valid to do development work in the system where my CDP license was applied because I had a unique license.

Could you please clarify why I have to have a Works subscription in order to do Development work even though I have a unique license? Apparently I missed something somewhere.

If I don?t have a current Works subscription does that mean my license is invalid?

I would like to get this issue straightened out. I didn?t realize I might have a problem, thank you for bringing it to my attention.
