Everytime I print to a laser printer on our NT Network I get one blank page at the beginning. I do not see this blank page when I print using Microsoft Word or any other Windows application. How do I get rid of this one blank page at the beginning of each print job coming from ARevelation (with NT Service)?

Use the (PE) option on your R/LIST reports rather than the (P) option. AREV doesn't know that there isn't paper in the printer so it forces a top-of-page at the head of all reports. You can also use the SET-OPTIONS (PE) in the initialization of AREV to make this the default behavior (at least I think you can). This may force you to use the (T) option to avoid having all reports go to the printer. I don't recall if this is true or not.

Thank you, Mr. Don Miller, for helping me to understand why one blank page is printing before every report I produce. It makes sense that Revelation is trying to go to the top of a new page.

My nest questions is as follows:

All of my reports are written in R/BASIC. Can I turn this "top-of-page" function off within R/BASIC? (I am using PRINTER ON, HEADING, (Then I print my data), PRINTER OFF).

A problem I have with SETOPTIONS (PE) is that the user is required to press the "OK" button. This is pretty ugly. It may be better to simply print an extra page rather than have the user confused by this message.

Thank you.
