Hello all,

I've seen a number of ways that edit tables can be changed on the fly, but not how to make a column protected. Does anyone have info on how to do this? I would also be interested in knowing if it is possible to create hidden columns.

Ron,

In the programmers reference look at SEND_MESSAGE. Under this there is COLSTYLE. I believe that 8=protected and 32=hidden.

Sorry I don't have code handy for example ..

If you type Send_Message into either the script editor or the System Editor, and move the cursor on it and hit F1, you can quickly get the online Programmer's Reference help topic for the COLSTYLE message, which lists all of the styles available, as well as an example of locking columns.
