Could somebody please explain how much it costs (in RevSoft products/licences) to get one's app on the Web? I understand the current unlimited offer in most cases beats buying bits and pieces, but details are foggy.

To make it simple: Which products - at which prices - are necessary to establish a server with

- no users (in my experience most apps work best without users )

- 1 user

- up to 10 simultaneous users

- an unlimited number of simultaneous users?

And what is needed to establish an additional server?

Thanks for the question - I will start by giving a general description of the licensing of the Web products, then address your question. As far as pricing goes, please check the price lists in the Company Store for North American and the International price list for Europe, Africa and Asia.

General Licensing

In order to implement OpenInsight as an interactive web application, the purchase of the Revelation Web Deployment Pack (WDP) is required. The WDP provides an unlimited number of Internet (browser based) users the ability to access the OpenInsight web application extensions. The WDP has no effect on the licensing of networked users who require standard network access to the application; these users must be properly licensed using the appropriate runtime Server Deployment Packs or Development-Ready Server Deployment Packs. The WDP can be installed on only one web server. If additional servers are required, a separate WDP license must be acquired.

Now to your questions:

- 1 user

In all three cases if the 'user' is a web (browser based) user then a Web Deployment Pack would cover all three cases listed above.

If the 'user' is a standard OpenInsight user running on a network - the user must have the appropriate number of Server Deployment or Dev Ready Server Deployment Packs installed to enable the proper user count.

For each additional WEB server - you would need an additional Web Deployment Pack.
