In making the move from Arev to OI, I'm finding that some reports can't really be rewritten using Reporter or Report Builder. For instance, I have a Materials Requisition that looks more like a form because of the extensive use graphics characters that "box in" the text in the different areas of the form. This could look even better if generated from windows, but depends on having access to the device context you are printing to. But in OI, especially using the printer.dll, all I have to work with are the font structure for text, and the PrintRect function. The font structure has a Height value that I assume is in logical units. The PrintRect function arguments are specified in inches. I can get the text printed, but how do I know where to draw the lines if I want to "box in" some text? Maybe if I could convert the Height of the font to inches, I would know where on the page the text ends up, and could draw lines around it.

Any ideas?

My suggestion is to use the OIPI instead. I don't think you can get the control you require with the Revelation tools.
