Strange happenings ... tables/indexes ... (OpenInsight 32-bit Specific)

After tracking some initial access problems to both multiple revparams and access rights, I had/have the following problems.
Database Manager not showing any tables although they all exist. After going through previous posts, I did some LH Verifys of system tables, and although nothing was reported, this then came right again.
The outstanding problem is that when I try and create a relational index via OI on a fairly large table (]600000 rows), it reports the index created instantly (on a build now). Database manager then does not display the index as having being added at all, although the dictionaries have been updated correctly. I can remove the index via ARev. I can start building the index in ARev but this is not a solution as I know it will break the 64k limit …
Any ideas ??

Looks as if the tables were not properly attached on OI (I mean in the DBT file). Can you check this, and ev. rebuild the affected DBT file?

Looks like ARev and OI using different collation tables (field # 10) in their respective LND_xxxxx records in SYSENV (!?).

As to the Database Manager situation - the tables are attached programmatically, so the DBT is not an issue. However that appear to have resolved itself anyway.
Unfortunately, having checked the SysEnv records there are no discrepancies between OI and ARev there … so I still do not have a resolution to this issue.
Anyone else any ideas ??

It turns out if QUICKDEX is present on a file related indexes will not add/build properly in OI. No such problem in ARev.
If QUICK/RIGHTDEX is present on the files in question (I don't recall if it was the dict or data) then remove QUICKDEX.
This was back in v7.x. I have not checked to see if this problem has been resolved as QUICKDEX was primarily used to help with TCL in ARev and the same functions (softkeys) don't exist in OI.

Thanks for that - Quickdex on dict of one of the tables, I have removed that and it appears to be working now. Note - this is OI 7.2.1.

As I recall now if the Dict is Quickdexed adding a relational index to that file fails in OI. If you remove QUICKDEX, then define and build the relational indexes you can then put QUICKDEX back on the dictionary. Just remember to remove it if you have to change or add the relational indexes.
