Our company, Financial Solutions Limited, has recently finalised the development of our comprehensive Year 2000 Scan software which will work with Revelation & Advanced Revelation programming languages. The software has now run successfully at several sites and we have started marketing it for wider use. The software is currently provided free for use with small to medium sized Revelation applications.

If you are not aware of the type of Y2K issues that can occur within Revelation applications then please view the information via our website, at URL:

In addition, we have available a very comprehensive manual that covers a lot of what you need to know about performing a Year 2000 audit. This information is relevant whether you use scan software or not. It is recommended reading for anyone responsible for Revelation applications. Please contact us for your free copy and let us know if you require it in a format other than MS Word 95.

We are currently looking for an OpenInsight site that has a requirement for a Year 2000 audit so that we can work together in modifying our software to work with that language. The scan software is written solely in Revelation R/BASIC so we envisage that the conversion exercise would be relatively straightforward. Please contact us if you are interested in working with us on this.

We are also interested in the types of exceptions that have been found by those who have already performed Year 2000 audits on their Revelation or OpenInsight systems, so that we can fine tune our software for all eventualities where possible.

Also, if you or your company have an interest in demonstrating and/or marketing our Revelation Scan Software at the Revelation Developer's Conference, please contact me on this.

Please email all enquiries to: finsol@ts.co.nz

I've run Jocelyn's software against our manufacturing / ERP application and can vouch for the fact that it is thorough. If you have any date dependancies in your apps, it's well worth it to run the suite against your app. There is a side benefit in that you essentially can get your app documented in a very thorough way. Either way, it's worth it, IMHO.
