Yes you can. In fact some of us Sprezzies are currently working at a client site who has an MFS to read/write to Oracle/SQL etc concurrently with OI tables.

You can either use the client/server workspace to set up a connection and a dataset, or you can use the various XOMethods (see on line docs).
