I created form and trying to set table columns to controls. But I can select table but not columns in the database association. I deleted table, copied clean table from other db, attached and added some new table columns. I have still same problem. How can I link form to table and what is the problem? Can someone help me?

After you select the table and try to select a column what happens? Do you get any message? What version of OI? Also, are you having this problem with only one form? Are other forms okay?

Sorry Ray,
I gave up.
My OI version is 8.0.1.
After selecting table there is no column at all in drop down box.
All forms which are linked with this table have same problem.

Have you got a %RECORDS% record in the data table. If so delete it.

Sorry I had to do other things urgently.
No, the data table has not %RECORDS%. I have still same problem.
I think this happens after dictionary upgrade. Do you have any ideas?

Sorry - mis-read the previous message, what about %RECORDS% on the dict
Any MFSes attached to the dict ??
If you open the dict in system editor, do you see the fields ??
Are there any with '%'s ??

If you have a Quickdex.mfs on the DICT. then remove it and redo any indexes.

Hello Simon,
We don't use MFS.
When I open the dict.student Row has %FIELDS%, %PROTECT.SPEC%, %SK%, %WINDOWS% and fileld names.

Hi Yun,
Just a thought, but what do you think about just remaking the Table and start fresh. Is this possible?
FWIW,

Hello Ray,
If I copy the same table from other systems. It is all right. But If I upgrade dictionary with that table, same problem happens.
For the dictionary upgrade, the other people's system are all fine.
At that time when it happened I tried to use ODBC connection to MS Access. I tested several times and I had problems with ODBC. Do you think is it related?
Making new table is very hard b/c it has over 2000columns. I will copy old version table, make new dictionary upgrade patch and upgrade.

Are you using UTF8 mode? If so this is a known bug - bug 1245 in the tracker.

So is there a solution?

It will be addressed in the next OI release. A workaround would be to copy a pile of dictionary items out with deletion, paint your form then copy them back in.

Why thank you Mr Chan Sir! We tend to see this more than most as our European clients tend to use UTF8 and so run into issues like this.
All the best for a joyous Thanksgiving Weekend.
