I can think of a few ways to see if Arev would run under linux. Too bad I never got to try it while I was at RTI.

1) Use samba to allow the windows pc's to map to the linux server and run the NPP. I would be surprised if it didn't lock. You can configure Samba to announce as NT and I have no problems mapping drives to linux here.

2) Compile IPX support into your kernel, or as a module, and mount the volume with IPX and try the older NetWare drivers. I haven't messed with IPX and linux (no reason to :]) so I can't comment on it.

Essentailly, anything that will report back as a network drive according to the MS-DOS 3.1 networking standards can handle an ARev system. We used to have to support all sorts of unix stuff with folks running pc/nsf into who know what back-ends. Had oe site running IBM Server, which is a DB/2 type box, I think.
