We have some strange problems with inheritance.

We have Oinsight for Workgroups 3.7, we tested it on Windows 95, Windows 98 standalone PCs and Windows NT network as well.

We have the following application setup:

SYSPROG -] APP1 -] APP2 -] APP3

There are several problems with the inheritance.

Here are a couple of these.

1. In APP3 application, the DEFPROP property on the Radio Button gives back the Title not the Value of the control.

The form was created in APP2 application, running the form from APP3 application, we get this strange result.

2. Report printing:

- APP1 application - WO_REP.RPT (created in Report Designer).

- APP2 application - APP2_WO_REP.RPT).

- APP3 application ? inherited from APP2 but uses different tables

People using APP3 have exactly the same windows, popups, etc. as APP2, only they attach a different database. When the same menuitem is executed in APP3, the APP3 users do not get the APP2_WO_REP.RPT report, but instead one, which is similar to WO_REP.RPT.

These programs are running without any problems in APP2 application. Only APP3 user has problems, and there is no form or stored procedure created in APP3 application.

You say you are getting a report similar to the original. What is the report you are actually running? Does it exist in any other app or can you not find it? Have you checked the system to see that you haven't accidentally created a few items in this app?

I have a report created in APP2 (report name: APP2_WO_PRINT). The menu item runs Revelation Reporter with this APP2_WO_PRINT report. There are NO reports, forms popups or any other entities created in APP3 application. I doublechecked it. There is no accidentally created entity in APP3.

I am running the report from the APP3 application. and it's printing a different report - the report I get, is a report from APP1 application (report name: WO_PRINT).

I verified the system tables, there are no GFEs in the application.
