This post is a follow up to one a made earlier regarding the use of OI in a shared windows environment. We have a client who has problems using our software in a shared windows environment. When they start the application, after the logon bitmap is displayed an "unable to access linear hash files" error occurs and the engine terminates. The following points were noted in the previous post:

1. They are able to run the application when they boot from a local version of windows.

2. The application is loaded locally on the workstation.

3. The working directory is set correctly.

The following points have came to light since my last post:

1. They _are_ able to run the application in the shared windows environment if they do not login to the Netware network and map shared drives etc.

2. They _are_ able to run the application whilst logged in if they use the "Byte-range locking" network driver instead of the "All networks" driver. The "Netware multi-user" driver does not work either.

3. Their Netware server is running version 4.11. The clients are running with updated DOS drivers.

So the problem would appear to be with the "All Networks" linear-hash driver. Is this a known problem? What I can't understand is why it is causing problems with a locally loaded application. If the app was on the Netware server then I wouldn't be so suprised.

Any Ideas?
