I am having a problem with a stand-alone copy of my AREV system on a Win2000 laptop. I first copied my networked live system to my local C:\ drive. I then cleared all data files and indexes so the system can be transported out of a classified location. The system works fine on my local drive. I them copied the files and directories to a CD-RW disk and copied them onto the laptop.

When I start the laptop version, I get a message window showing "FS107" but not the text of the message. I checked on the local copy and message FS107 is in SYSMESSAGES. When I press enter AREV terminates and returns to Win2000. There seems to be no MS-DOS icon or Reboot in DOS mode in Win2000 so I can't se if there are any messages after the login screen. I am going back now to count files and check file sizes, maybe the copy was bad, but if anyone has other suggestions, I would love to hear them.

Thanks,

Roy

Strong likelihood is that a copy from a CD left all the files Read Only. Try using explorer to flag them back.

Thanks, you are exactly right. I just spoke to Mike Ruane and he said the same thing.
