We have a client who wish to purchase a 3-5 user version of one of our applications which runs over OI4WG 3.5. They wish to use our application exclusively via Citrix Winframe, with our application loaded on an NT 4 server and Winframe on a separate NT 3.51 server. Therefore I have the following questions:

1. Are there any known issues regarding the use of OI4WG 3.5 via Winframe.

2. Would the exclusive use of Winframe to access our application mean that an NT service would be unnecessary?

Andrew,

You will want to get the NT Service. NT (and Citrix) extensively use Write-Behind caching and Opportunistic Locking which can easily corrupt the LH files.

As to known problems, there are some adjustment settings that will help OpenInsight to run better on a Citrix WinFrame server. Check the online help files for Win16 settings in an NT environment.

The following settings should be a good starting point.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Compatibility\Applications\OINSIGHT

"FirstCountMsgQPeeksSleepBadApp"=dword:0000000f

"Flags"=dword:00000008

"MsgQBadAppSleepTimeInMillisec"=dword:00000001

"NthCountMsgQPeeksSleepBadApp"=dword:00000005

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Compatibility\Applications\OENGINE

"FirstCountMsgQPeeksSleepBadApp"=dword:0000000f

"Flags"=dword:00000008

"MsgQBadAppSleepTimeInMillisec"=dword:00000001

"NthCountMsgQPeeksSleepBadApp"=dword:00000005
