Hi,

Was hoping to save myself some work here :-)

Is there a standard OI replacement for the PrnStat function, or has someone else coded up a solution ??

Hopefully,

Simon

Why would you need it? Windows spools if the printer is off line and then Windows tells you about it.

It might be useful for a routine that prints alignment forms (such as checks or W2's on preprinted paper) or just so that you can prompt the user to hit the Online button on the printer (since doing that eliminates a number of support calls about why the print job isn't coming out). All of which is predicated on a local printer being used, of course.

Hi,

Karen has correctly guessed the main reason - pre-printed stationery. We do have a certain amount of Cheque printing that has to be done, and also pre-loaded trays on a network printer with different stationery per tray. It would be useful to do a check on the printer and/or tray to check that the printing job can be followed through prior to sending the job out.
