We have a problem which has been plaguing our system for the past year. We have an application which starts from a window and by the time it is completed it may have called several other windows, printed some forms and written some dos text files. Once a while the user will lose their screens. There is no break and Arev is still running. There seems to be a message which flashes on the screen, but it disappears too fast. There is no consistency as to where this may happenning on the screen and to whom it may happen to. Some user will be fine for days and then it will start resetting but seldom at the same locations. It may happen while entering the screens or when the screen is saved. Once this happens, we cannot get it to reset again. If may happen after another 4-10 records after. If we log out of Arev, it will not rectify the problem. But if we log the system off and reboot it may be fine for a while. We are running Arev 3.12 of a Novell 4.11 on NT WorkStations and Citrix Servers. We previou
sly had the same problem on Dos/Windows 3.1 Workstations. Does any know why this may be happenning. The frustrated users are on my back because they keep losing their work. thanks

Paul, some questions -
Are you using Expanded memory and the command line AREV /XM4096 in the Windows shortcut?
Is a power-save enabled in the PC BIOS?
Are screensavers active?
What does the WHO window report?
What are the shortcut settings for Memory and Misc under Windows?
Have you got exclusive in foreground set?
Are the PC's which report this all the same brand and model?

Yes, we are using expanded memory (Arev /x). I will revise to Arev /xm4096.
Power Save is disabled
ScreenSaver is not activated
Convention Memory is Auto
Expanded Memeory is 4096
Extended Memory is None
Background is always suspend
All computers have the same motherboard(ASUS), with the exception of the Citrix Server (Compaq).
An user running the same application and same workstation may not have the problem for several days. But then it will start occurring again for unknown reasons.
Thanks

It may be unconnected BUT always suspend should be off. Otherwise this can cause network hangs.
