Upgraded from OI v3.7.5 to v4.0.1 - everything went fine - no errors.

But after upgrade, if I choose the

Netware NML Multi-user Driver ver 1.5b

I cannot lauch OI - it give an error

Attempt to log in too many users
    then
 OpenInsight boot up failed

If I select the

 All Networks Driver

then I can lauch OI, but it will not use the tables in my volumes due

to the REVPARM file in the volumes!

OI v3.7.5 works fine -

Setup on OI v3.7.5

File Server - Novell v4.11 with SP9 installed (P4,1.5GB RAM)

Workstation(s) - Windows 98 SE (Pentium 4, 256MB RAM)

Network Driver - IPX/Netware Multi-user Driver ver. 1.5a

I can still lauch the OI v3.7.5 with no problem, but the OI v4.0.1

will not boot up!

Things I have tried -

1. Contacted REV Tech Support - they suggested to install then NLM
client side into the OI v4.0.1
2. Backed up the OI v4.0.1 then
Re-install the NLM (client side) into OI v4.0.1 from orginal
   diskettes
(this made it even worse - so restored the OI v4.0.1 from backup)
3. Contacted REV Tech Support again - they sent me an LHNLM.DLL file
dated 02/21/02. I installed this file with same results.
4. Searched Online Discussion for upgrade problems - printed the
one from Craig about old LH*.DLL files and deleted those
remaining files in OI v4.0.1 - still no help.

Notice that the IPX/Netware Multi-user Driver ver. 1.5a is not an

option in the OI v4.0.1 NetDrv selection area!

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Pat,

If you read my "tried so far" section, I had already printed that

thread and removed the files and tried to lauch again with no

success.

Still same problem -

Leon,

Oops, sorry about that, right you are.
Are you running OpenInsight on a local drive and then trying to access files on a separate mapped networked drive? If so, I have reproduced this and hopefully will have a fix shortly.

Hi Pat,

No, OpenInsight is installed on the Novell File Server, as was

the OI v3.75 - Data Tables reside on same Novell File Server.

Nothing changed with mapping or accessing location with program or

data, just did the upgrade, and did what I indicated in the 1st part

of this thread. - Like I said - OI v3.75 works fine in same location.

Update on condition of getting into v4.0.1

If I reboot my workstation, I can boot into OI 1 time. But if I get out of OI, I cannot get boot back into OI - Too many users message. -

I reboot my workstation again, and I can get into OI v4.0.1

1 time again, but if I close it and try to get back into without

rebooting workstation - same message - Too many users.

Leon-

I was able to duplicate then fix this with the new driver we sent you via email. I tried to call you at your office; you've already left for the day. I'll talk to you first thing Monday morning.

Thanks-

Mike
