We are having intermitant problems with OpenInsight 3.61 Development.

Occasionally when you login, it will run incredably slow (ie around 10% of normal speed). This is sometimes fixed by logging out and then back in again (but not always). This doesn't happen all the time, it may popup one day and be ok the next.

The problem appears more frequently on NT Workstation 4.0 (with SP3) rather than Windows95. On Win95 it happens more often when using a local copy.

This, so far, has not happened in a runtime version.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The only place where I have consistently seen OI be slooooow is on NT 4.0 SP3( Server or Workstation) connected to NetWare 3.12 Server. Running Novell Client on NT and the Revelation NLM on Novell Server.

However, local OI copy on NT is always OK. Also, network OI accessed through Win95/98 is OK as well.

Same at least since version 3.4

Just spent a lot of time on a 3.14 install on NT workstations and the only slowness we saw was tracing through the debugger during a test run. Moving from line to line was excruciatingly slow. I found it so much faster to just save the form and run it from the system monitor.

Other than that, I didn't notice and slowdowns, except for an occasional pause of the entire NT box.

Yep, that appears to be the case here.

Any ideas why?

Nope.

I mentioned it to tech support, but they told me they could not reproduce it.

I've seen it on Workstation 4, Server 4, and Small Business Server 4 all with Novell 3.12 in the back

Basically, the only thing I have not changed is the Novell Server.

As I said, it works OK with Win95/Win98 as the client!

Maybe this note will prompt some more testing ;)
