Deploying indexes in OI 3.7 (OpenInsight Specific)

I have been trying to do a full deploy with 3.7 and can't get the indexes to work. I've tried the instructions in the knowledge base, but can't get them to work. When temporarily replacing oinsight.exe with the development oinsight.exe to add indexes, the options normally there in the development version are not there, so I cna't add indexing.
I noticed on another thread that 3.7.2 is supposed to fix this. How is a non-Works subscriber to get this fix?

Don,
The only way to get the upgrades/fixes for OpenInsight is in the "For Works subscribers" section of the web site. To the best of my knowledge you were enrolled in the WORKS program and expired on August 15, 1998. If you wish to download the fix to your issue and get back in the WORKS you can call the customer care department for pricing. Upon payment we will provide you with a user name and password for the WORKS section.

Paul,
I don't want to launch WWIII, but doesn't Don (I am a different Don) have a right to have a working version of OI even if he doesn't continue his subscription? This has been a sore spot for many developers who are content to remain at a certain level of OI and don't want to get more content. But certainly they are entitled to have a fully functional version of OI no matter what version they decide to "cease and desist." The emphasis of Works should be "upgrades" and not "bug fixes."
FWIW,

Paul,
Don Bakke took the words out of my mouth. At this point I really can't justify the Works subscription, but the ability to deploy a working application is essential to using OI, and not being able to deploy indexes essentially renders the product unusable.
As a long time user of Rev products I would ask (beg?) Revsoft not to tie bug fixes to the Works subscription. Surely I shouldn't have to pay $700 or what ever it is now to get a working version.
I love OI, but this kind of policy keeps pushing me closer to jumping ship.
I await your response.
