I am looking for advice on what computer hardware components would be recomended for use with AREV (dos) application.

NOVELL 5.1

NLM 5

Windows XP SP2

We are finding that new hardware will not run properly with AREV becuase either the EMS is too low or AREV either Hangs or runs too slow.

I am looking for specific mother boards and processer chips that anyone is using now that work good with AREV. So if you could please list the hardware by model numbers and also leave any specific things that need to be done. IE - turning off things in bios ect..

Thank You!!!

If you can bring the system up in a Virtual Machine you may be able to add a hardware independent layer between the environment and the application. This might provide a stop gap until a more permanent solution can be found for the server.

Tame is an all around good tool for working with Arev but I don't know if Tame is supported on Vista/Windows 7.

Long term solution would be to move towards Arev32 which is based on OpenInsight.
