Wanted to hear from those of you brave souls that have ventured into Windows 2000 with your OI APP., We would like to hear your success or horror stories. We would like to have any advice or precautions.

We are getting questions about OI and windows 2000 and really have nothing to say. When we asked Revelation for an official statement about Window 2000 this is their response:

We don't have an official statement per say. However, you can explain to your customers the following.

It is Revelation's intent on Openinsight 3.7+ to be compatible with Windows 2000. The benchmark test on our web site indicate our initial testing and Network Product Matrix will be kept current (With and without network products) for future Operating System versions. There are no known problems with Openinsight 3.7+ and Windows 2000 at this time that we are aware of.

Don?t know if any of you have anything to add to this or not. In any case, any help would be appreciated.

There are some idiosyncrasies we have noticed on some machines - specifically behaviour of some of the open dialog boxes in the tool set. In the System Editor, Record Open Dialog, in other versions of Windows, typing in the record key edit line moves you to the record key in the list box, this does not work on some machines under Win2000.

One of our larger sites has switched from Novell to Windows 2000 just a few weeks ago. We switched them to the All Networks driver and so far so good. No drama reported. They are running OI version 3.6. Could be too early to give any feedback on anything subtle though.

Robert,

Please keep us posted.

Can you supply some details about the site, like # simultaneous users?

You mention NPP but not a word about Revelation NT Service. Does this site run without NT Service?

They are running NPP at the moment. They are considering upgrading to the NL/M but that hasn't happened yet.

The only problem I've experienced so far is with video. The video has shadows and shading which should not be there. I would be happy to email you a screen capture.

Robert,

Thanks.

You say NLM. Do you mean NT Service? I thought you went from a Novell server to a Win 2000 Server.
