We have AREV running on an XP server, my old Dell D610 laptop used and found the 4096 Expanded Memory. PIF file uses the /x/M4096 start up. I got a new laptop HP Elite Book 8460P, it cannot find or use the Expanded Memory, the WHO command says it's INACTIVE. No one from IT seems to know the setting in the HP. We still have Dell desktops using AREV from the network and these computers are using Expanded Memory so I assume it's a setting in my HP. Can anyone help?

Without going into all the boring technical explanations, some newer machines just won't load EMS, or if they will, won't give you enough to be useful. If all else fails, then you can use EMSMAGIC.
