I am unable to delete a record in our products file.
Corresponding to it is an indexing error indicating that the index for a particular field, wholesale_margin is missing.
Any idea on how to creatively delete and obstinate record….

Jim,
Have you tried to fix the index? Presumably if you resolve that problem then you can delete the record.
Of course, you can temporarily disable SI.MFS from the REVMEDIA file, delete the record, and then renable SI.MFS. However, your indexes will be out-of-synch and will need to be rebuilt.

It sounds like the indexing records might be hosed. A rebuild might be in order regardless. My guess is that one of the btree records is pointing to a non-existant node. This may even cause an error message and abort when trying to rebuild or remove the indexing on the file.

Two things spring to mind - one the row id has an unprintable/system character or two the record is pointed to by a relational. Does it wipe all fields bar one when you attempt to delete?
