OI 3.7

Hi,

I have read the posts about Sybase, and some of the ones about ODBC. We are wanting to connect (and update) a Sybase db from OI, can anyone tell me the tips/techniques, or possible traps ?

Have used OI sometime ago to read an MS Access db, all I remeber is that it was fairly easy, but very slow (on the part of Access I think, or ODBC driver connection is known to be slow).

I do not know as yet what the vers of the Sybase is, but read a post of the possible problems (mounting) by trying to connect with OI (16 bit) to 32 bit systems. I think I am limited to do any connection, aren't I, that is, I have to connect with 16 bit drivers when using OI ?

The usual "suite" of ODBC drivers included with M$ products unfortunately does not include Sybase, as it is not part of MDAC. So we are forced to purchase the Sybase ODBC driver, one for each site (ouch !! ).

Any advice would be appreciated.
