This isn't an Arev question, but I believe you Arev guys can help me. I'm trying to assist a person who's got an MS-DOS program - and old runtime version of the database program Dataflex - that creates problems for other programs on his Win XP computer. According to Task Manager it uses 100% CPU resources. This app used to work fine on Win98 and Win2K. Any ideas?

You can try shareware products like Tame (search the web) or memory managers such as the one very good one from AppSense. This allows you to tune a specific exe to a memory or percentage limit and all sorts of other things. You can download a test version from http://www.appsense.com

There is a TSR version of CPUPLUS available Oystein. Works OK with Dataflex, and has a smaller memory footprint and better self-tuning across different operating systems than Tame.

Designed originally for use with REVG, but works on all DOS apps.

Email me for details.
