Is there a problem with doing an appback with a 3.61 version and trying to restore it to a 3.5 version? I can't get it to work.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

There is no problem doing the actual APPBACKUP (Restore) to the 3.5 system. You must beware though of any bugs, upgrade features and such when going from a later version to an older version.

Good luck…

Paul,

If you are talking about $APPBACKUP/$APPBACKUP_SUB itself (I cannot tell from the question) then yes it did change. The manner in which OS files are copied changed to use the new OS copy routines.

Cam,

Here is the problem:

Other site using 3.61 does an appback on a very small application. I'm running 3.5 and would like to update my system with the changes. Appbackup runs with the restore toggled on, and almost immediately says it is completed. No changes are actually made.

Paul,

It is difficult to say what could be going wrong. If you take a look at the appbackup directory, are there OS files that are getting copied?

Cam,

Yup. Files are fine. When Bob, at the source site, performs the appbackup/restore on one of his 3.61 systems, it works fine.
