I am trying to read and insert like 2500 records in an edit table with 35 columns using send_message command. After it has inserted like 1000 records the whole insert process becomes very sloooowwwwww. I have put in Yield so that user can atleast start to work but is there any other way to speed up the proocess and insert all the records quickly????

Thanks

Prashant

I am sorting that data on 3 columns using tha locate command to get the record insert position in the table. So i think i cannot insert the records in blocks. Have to go one by one only.

Thanks,

Look at V119 - much better for sorting, sort the entire array then set the LIST or ARRAY property.

Tried V119. Works great.

But now a new problem again. After sorting when i try to populate the table by setting the List property the system freezes and dies on me. Now what's the story here?!?!? I am using ver 7 .

I have 35 columns in that table and 2500 records. so the variable in which i have the data is too big. Is that causing a problem???

I am running Win2K server with 256 megs of Ram so i think memory is not a problem. But then i tried it on another computer with 512 meg ram and XP and it worked. But still the set_property command took quite sometime to execute. The whole process took about 20 seconds(because of the slow set_property command) and when i try to populate records one by one it took about 25 seconds. So not much of a difference there.

Is there any other suggestion….

Thanks for your inputs,

Prashant
