Does anyone know if getting the Works is tax deductible?
We're a small shop, but we need the support and upgrades.
Thanks in advance,

Dave-
Although I am not a CPA or Lawyer, as I understand it:
Under U.S. tax law, if you're a company doing business in the US and purchase supplies, materials, or support for your business, it is deductible, especially under an expanded section 179 in the tax code. Check with your accountant or tax advisor to make sure.
To wax a bit editorial, Ive never figured out why a company using OpenInsight would not have a Works subscription. The company would get the latest releases and patches, technical support, and specials on pricing. You get a lot of benefit for little or no net cost. Im not sure if its that fact that the payment is due all at once- $1595 for an initial subscription, or $995 renewal. Maybe we should look into accepting multiple payments for a subscription.
And, for all you international users, with the weak US dollar, now is probably a great time to buy the Works youre getting quite a discount.
Ok, off my soapbox and back to work.
Just to repeat, check with your accountant or tax advisor on whether or not the Works is deductible for your company.
