In form designer, change the column heading of an edit table to null.

All the other columns have their column headings trashed to 'Text'

Most annoying.

Has been there since the year dot (at least OI 2.4)

Please fix.

Colin,

I have fixed this so that a column can now have a null (blank) heading, and the rest of the columns will retain their set column headings. The code specifically considered a blank column header as indicating a corrupt set of text for the headers and so set everything back to a default state of "Text".
Are there any side-effects that I'm not thinking of to allowing a column to have a blank heading? The edit table seems to function OK with blank headers, but if anyone knows of problems that could be caused by this, please post it here! Otherwise this fix will be in our next release.

Thanks for fixing this.

I am not aware of any reasons why this would not work OK everywhere, unless there is specific code in an application which expects the col heading to be not-null.

Whilst on the subject of tables, a similar little problem on Win2000 versus Win98. A column with zero width, does not display the contents on Win98, but on Win2000 it displays 1/2 a character and looks messy. I know you can hide the column, but the difference in display is annoying.
