Richard-

Use the Repository function. Refer to the Prog Ref. Manual in the online help, chap 3. Basic Command reference… I'm thinking of Repository WRITE

e.g.

(from System Editor)

RUN REPOSITORY "WRITE", "MYAPP*OIEVENTEXE*WRITE*MYFORM", "", "", 0, "", "", "", "", "", "", ""

(at least this is what you'd do for the other entities that show up in the outline)

For all null parameters used in the Repository function, default values are used. Following is the list of parameters needed for the WRITE operation of the Repository function.

message (WRITE in this case)

EntId (fully qualified name of entity)

Hope this helps.

What are you trying to accomplish?

Are you sure it does not appear in the outliner under OpenInsight, OpenInsight Executables, OpenInsight Event Executables, Write (OI Form)?

I inherited a form from one application into another. I then found that I needed to change the form in the new application. So I swiched off the shareable flags on the form in the master application as well as the shareable flags on all the EventExes (Write does not appear in the outliner OI 3.5). Then I copied the form over into the new application. When I try to compile it I get the error compilation has failed APPNAME*OIEVENTEXE*WRITE*FORMNAME cannot be modified. So it looks as if the 'old' write event is still hanging about.

Thanks Tracy , it works ! I just had to remember to put a period after the form name.

Yeah, I can't see the WRITE Events in the outliner either, even when I define them for a form.

Tracy,

Do you have a SYSREPOSCLASSES entry for OIEVENTEXE*WRITE?

Yup, I have OIEVENT*WRITE, and OIEVENTEXE*WRITE, but I noticed that it doesn't show up in either the OpenInsight Event Executables, or the Scripts-]Events list.
