Depends… several ways each becoming more sophisticated. Try the "entry level" - Utility RUNWIN the doc name and see if the associations do it for you.

I tried to check the returnvalue in a message vindue:

Call Msg(@window, returnvalue)

and it says:

C:\programmer\Microsoft Office\Office\winword.exe c:\sager\14000\1.doc

I have tried the DDE link and service as well.

What could be wrong?
