Why are there 2-digit years on dates of posted messages? Will this newsgroup crash and burn next year? (AREV Specific)

Because there are no dates after this year. You can avoid the Y2K bug by counting the days backwards. That means that Mondays will be a relief after a hard week, going to church no longer bisects the weekend, and Friday drinks will make Thursdays less noticable. Paydays on Thursday means you can have money in time for the weekly petrol discount prices on Wednesday. Long weekends end on Friday so they seem longer.
Friday traffic is, of course, still Friday traffic.

I think web pages will arrive faster if we do not include the full 4 digits in any date fields. Oh yes, I've been careful to remove the extra two digits from all of my internet traffic, and I applaud ARev for holding the line, ensuring better service for all of us.
