I have read with interest the sketchy information on jRev. I wonder why the preview is limited to Works subscribers. Since it is only to give OI users a chance to see the future and determine what the new product will do for them, it would seem to be wise to let anyone look at it. Who knows, some might even decide to get Works.

I agree 100%. We should at least be able to see the jRev discussions going on. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Don,

I am glad to see that you are interested in jRev. If you would like to see a first hand preview of jRev, and get a chance to learn more about our strategy/schedule for its release, I strongly recommend attending Revelation University. Details are available at http://www.revelation.com/university.htm. I would suggest that you focus on the content of Track 3.

Revelation Software has worked very hard at building value in the Works program, based on feedback from our customers. Many customers like yourself have heard about jRev for a while now and are anxious to see whatever is available. Most software companies don't deliver anything to their customers until they reach the beta stage (even then it is a limited group). We are in a position where we are able to deliver previews to our customers as development evolves throughout 1999. However, we are not even at the beta stage yet.

If you would like to discuss this further please feel free to call me at 978-946-7108.

Regards,

Gary

Gary,

Thanks for the response. I appreciate the fact that Revsoft is going out of its way in giving the previews at this stage. However, since the purpose is to promote the product and generate interest, it would seem to be more effective if it was made available for down load like the OI demo is without being a Works customer. For many going to Rev University is not an option due to time and financial reasons.

By the way, I used to subscribe to Works, but the cost has gone up to the point that I can't squeeze it out of the departmental budget (I'm with a non-profit).

I'll wait till it comes out and keep an eye on the reviews before deciding whether to pop for it.

Don
