The file has grown to over 33,000 records using over 1GB of space. I would like to delete as many records as possible with out interfering with concurent AREV operations. Any suggestions?

Peter-
You can delete all records in the file- just do it while no one else is on the system.
Just use the ClearTable command- if you are unable because it is a system file (I Can't remember if you can or not)- use a delete command.
Hope it helps-

Remember, certain network drivers will give a session counter as part of the network ID so this will show up in the StationNbr item.
ListLevel is slightly different from TCL level, but for this purpose you can think of it as such.

The system is in-use pretty much 24/7. Is there anyway to determine what the current session counters are, so that active records are not deleted?

Peter ..
The session counter (if present)is not particularly useful as a indicator of an active user. It is assigned internally by some network drivers, the windows desktop, etc. Do you have any "maintenance" processes that you do routinely that require all users to temporarily suspend activity? If so, you can run your purge process then. For a 24/7 system, this is sometimes a real problem
