When building a Btree Index in the table SPECS on the field SEARCH

I get an error that indicates a problem writing to the linear hash

file for "SEARCH2". I am able to build indexes for other fields. Search is a symbolic field concatenating a data field and another xlate symbolic field. Or that there is a problem with writing to the file? Do you have an error message id?

Hi Bill, I took a fresh look at it and recognized it did indicate

a bad row. So I did some Rlists reports to try and identify

corrupted data. I found a number and also cleaned up the field

formatting to avoid future problems. Anyway, after cleaning it up

it built the index lickity split. Regards, Jim.

Hey, Jim, Good sleuthing. I want to apologize for loading so much "hay" on the pitchfork in my response to your btree.extract / symbolic field questions. I hope you were able to speed things up anyway.
