DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT A PIXEL LEVEL PLOT ROUTINE IN AREV.

IF NOT ARE THERE ANY DOS LEVEL PRODUCTS THAT WOULD BE ABLE TO PLOT WHEN INVOKED BY AREV.

It depends on your plotter. You need to tell us what make/model it is - this will determine what escape sequences the printer accepts to put a dot at an X,Y point on the page. I have written such routines before on an HP laserjet printer. You may also need to obtain a printer driver / spooler for DOS from the manufacturer to get this all to work successfully.

Thanks for your response. What I want to do is

capture data in Rev then go to a plot routine to

graph the data on a screen. What I'd like to do is

to be able to write the data to a REV file and have

the graphing routine read the numbers and plot them on

the monitor.

Does your routine do this?

If you can, please type in lowercase (otherwise you're shouting)

No, my routine works to printer. But it does do

scattergrams on an x-y grid.

There was a product years ago (1989) called RGRAPH

which did graphs from AREV on screen. I'm not sure

if it's still available. Contact Revelation Software

to get a contact number.

Steve,

Thanks for the information. Sorry about the caps. I'm not very hip

on the etiquette of this type of communication.

Hi Steve,

I think I understood your latest. "Neither are you?"

I was thinking about your self developed plot routine. I'm a

teacher and a half way decent REV programmer. I want to

develop an interactive program in REV that will allow my student

to enter data and have it plot a curve on the monitor that sort

of fits their data. Was your routine written in REV? If so, is it possible to adapt your program to do that? By removing PRINTER ON/OFF commands, will the curve you generate print on the monitor? If so, if I can get some $ from my department, would you be willing to sell us the source code, or modify it yourself per our specs?

Thanks again. Harold

Harold,

The x-y plot routines will only work to am HP printer.

On a screen you would have to change video mode,

and AREV does not let you do this itself.

I will see what I can put together for you. As it

is for education, there will be no charge.

Email me to discuss your requirements further.
