HELP, have installed AREV 2.03 runtime , single user version. When attempting to save a record in a file with secondary indexing, get error message "B401" "Null I/O Error" and the save fails. This happens if trying to modify,or create a record in a window or using EDIT.

No problems with files with no secondary indexing.

Is there anybody out there that give me clue as to what's happening?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

This means an error occured, the error flags where set, but the error code was left empty. Does this error occur on all indexed files or just the one? Are the indexes actually there? Are there GFEs in the index or dict files?

It happens in all files with secondary indexing. The bang files are there and one that I checked did contain records. Have checked !INDEXING for GFEs , nor the dictionary files. Since it happens with all indexed files and I don't get any GFE error messages, I don't think is a problem with GFEs.

Thanks fror the speedy response.

Do you have a custom MFS installed? This can happen when the MFS tries to call a Null NextFs.

No custom MFS's are installed, only SI.MFS, RIGTHDEX.MFS or QUICKDEX.MFS. If I manually remove the SI.MFS from a file by editting the REVMEDIA record then I can successfully save a record.

Thanks for thr response.

Are all of these indexes in the same volume? What happens if you add an index to a new file in a new volume? Will you get the same error?

On the other hand, if you've just installed this, perhaps you should ask the software authors for another copy of the application. Maybe you were sent a corrupted system.
