I'm trying to install the sample apps provided on the Works 3.5 CD

I follow the documentation, but when I run APPBACKUP, choose Restore, and Copy Data Tables, then select the directory location where I have copied the files from the CD, (after making sure I have done the "ATTRIB *.* -R" command on the appropriate directories), then I hit OK, I get a message telling me that an error has occurred in the OENGINE application, and the option to Close or Ignore. When I choose close, the next message reads "OENGINE caused a GPF in module OENGINE.EXE at 0003:07D4" (This address is always the same)

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I have created the new application and run APPBACKUP from there, and from SYSPROG.

I am running OI off my local (C:) drive, but on an NT workstation on a Novell network.

Hope someone can help

There has been a GPF fixed in that module. I cannot be certain it is the same problem you are experiencing, but I am pretty sure it is. Can you email your OENGINE.EXE to jtd@revelation.com and then we can upgrade it to the latest (3.6 internal pre-release) engine to see if this problem has been resolved.

The reason I am not certain of the cause of the GPF is that, in addition to the GPF fix I described above, the APPBACKUP_SUB module changed slightly, as did a low-level OS copy routine that APPBACKUP_SUB now uses. These changes were in 3.5, and if something breaks, we usually find that the problem is located in a module that recently changed.

Thank you for your help,
