Using REVPARAM without NT Service installed yet. (OpenInsight Specific)

to my OI sub-directories now (and OI will continue to work properly??) and then when they install the NT Service everything will be ready….
or will my current OI crash with REVPARAM files and no NT Service running????

Your tables will not be available if ServerOnly=True before the NT Service gets installed. If you add this file to the folder where OINSIGHT.EXE is stored then you will get a nasty message and OI won't launch at all. If you all put these files in your data directories then your application will behave as if it couldn't open those tables. You should probably create the REVPARAM files but set ServerOnly to False and instruct your IRD deptartment to set it to True when they are done installing the NT Service.

Here is some more information: The REVPARAM file when set to Serveronly=1/True allows the user to access the datatables only when the NT SERVICE is up and running. If it is not then the setting in the REVPARAM will generate an error message and will not grant access to the tables. In other words, this setting does not allow the user(s) to by-pass the NT SERVICE and prevents any data corruption from taking place, if the system is running without it.
